William Michael “Bill” Daley (born Monday, August 9, 1948) is an American Lawyer and former banker. His parents were Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley and Eleanor Daley

He served as White House Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama from January 2011 to January 2012. He also served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1997 to 2000 under President Bill Clinton. Until dropping out of the race on Monday, September 16, 2013, he was a candidate for Illinois Governor.

Siblings

Sis and Richard had three daughters and four sons, in that order. Their eldest son, Richard M. Daley, was mayor of Chicago from 1989 through 2011. The youngest son, William M. Daley, served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1997-2000. Another son, John P. Daley, is a member of the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
