William L. Crawford, secretary, Excelsior Iron Works, Chicago, was born in Jefferson County, New York on Thursday, June 14, 1849.

William L. Crawford served as Treasurer of the Rogers Park Village Board, 1878, 1879, 1880, 1882, 1884.

Biographical Sketches of Rogers Park

William L. Crawford, secretary, Excelsior Iron Works, Chicago, was born in Jefferson County, New York, born: Thursday, June 14, 1849. He was engaged in that county as a clerk in a dry goods house.

William L. Crawford came to Chicago in 1869, and was connected first with Fox, Howard and Foster on the Illinois & Michigan Canal, then with the Vulcan Iron Works, Chicago, and in 1874 came to the Excelsior Iron Works as bookkeeper, and in 1882 was made secretary of that company.

William L. Crawford has resided in Rogers Park since August 1873, and has been Treasurer of the village since its organization.

William L. Crawford was married to Alice Crawford, nee: Alice Easterly of Jefferson County, New York, on Saturday, January 27, 1872. They have two children, Neil D. Crawford and William E. Crawford.
