Welcome Inn Pizzeria

From HistoryWiki

The Welcome Inn Pizzeria, 7517 N. Western Avenue, was a great spot for the teens in the 1950s and 1960s. The basement was turned over to the teens. The full menu was available--but, no liquor, beer, or wine was served downstairs. Music and dancing was commonplace on Friday and Saturday nights.

Many felt that the thin-crust pizza at Welcome Inn was the best. The recipe was sold to the owner of the Candlelite Restaurant across the street when the Welcome Inn closed.

Note--Ad in Tattler, Sunday, September 21, 1952, p.2 gives address as 7549 N. Western Avenue.
