Ayres Boal's Marriage in East Revealed, Chicago Tribune, Thursday, June 19, 1947, page 21
News of the marriage, yesterday, in Salem, Massachusetts of Ayres Boal of Winnetka and Tucson and Mrs. Paul Haskell (Ruth Wilder) will come as a surprise to his Winnetka neighbors. They will have an opportunity to meet his bride next week when Mr. & Mrs. Boal come to his Winnetka home before going to Mexico City.
The wedding took place in the home of one of the former Mrs. Haskell's sons, Paul Haskell, Jr. and his wife. Present for the ceremony were two of Mr. Boal's children, Mr. and Mrs. Ayres Boal, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Philip W. Moore, Jr. and the bride's other son, Gorham Haskell and his wife. Another son of Mr. Boal was detained here by business and his wife and their children are at the Boal summer home in Charlevoix, Michigan. Another son, Thomas, also lives in Winnetka. Their mother was the late Leslie Johnson Boal.
Mr. Boal and his bride have been winter time neighbors in Tucson for several years. His Winnetka friends will be invited to meet the new Mrs. Boal at a large cocktail party to be given next week, probably by Mr. & Mrs. Moore.
Ayres Boal committed suicide
The body was found by his wife, Ruth Boal, nee: Mrs. Paul Haskell. She said he had been in poor health for several years. Coroner James M. Howsare of Tucson ruled the death a suicide.
Mr. Boal, son of Charles T. Boal, pioneer Chicago realtor, was a graduate of Harvard University, where he was a track star. He is also survived by three sons, Ayres Boal, Jr., Stewart Boal, and Thomas Boal and a daughter, Mrs. Philip W. Moore, Jr., and 12 grandchildren.
