Rogers Park Baseball Club

From HistoryWiki

The Rogers Park Baseball Club played at the Rogers Park Base Ball Grounds near Devon Avenue and Clark Street.

The streetcar employees, who worked at the nearby carbarns, had their own baseball team, "The Limits" that played at this field.

Sadly, the ball park only existed for 10 years.

On August 27, 1910, the Calahan's Logan Squares semi-pro baseball team beat the Rogers Parks in the first night baseball game. This game was played at Charles A. Comiskey's new White Sox park. The score was 3-0. 3,500 attendees watched this historic event. The game was quick, lasting only one hour and 15 minutes.
