The Village of Rogers Park was incorporated on Monday, April 29, 1878. It was annexed to the Chicago on Tuesday, April 4, 1893.

David Johann Braun was a trustee of the village.

Andrew B. Jackson was the first President of the Village of Rogers Park in 1878.

Edward A. Sharp, Sr., (1860-1952) was the first Clerk of the Village of Rogers Park.

Henry D. Capitain was school trustee in old Village of Rogers Park.

The Village of Rogers Park trustees voted to put in sidewalks on Greenleaf Avenue from the Chicago & North Western Railway tracks to Ridge Boulevard on Friday, September 30, 1892.

The Village Corporation: The Village of Rogers Park was organized Monday, April 29, 1878, under the general law, approved Wednesday, April 10, 1872.

On Monday, April 29, 1878, the first election for village officers was held, resulting in the choice of the following Trustees:

James Carter, David W. Kean, Cornelius Henry Ceperly, Mathias Mann, J.J. Pitkin, and Andrew B. Jackson.

Andrew B. Jackson was elected President in May; J.S. Knitterauer, clerk; William L. Crawford, Treasurer; and Thomas K. Elvey, Street Commissioner.

In 1879, the officers were as follows:

Andrew B. Jackson, President of the board; William L. Crawford, Treasurer: George Estes, Street Commissioner: P.K. Smith, Constable.

The officers for 1880 were: J.J. Pitkin, President; J.W.N. Wharton, Clerk; Alonzo A. Exline, Attorney; William L. Crawford, Treasurer; Cornelius Henry Ceperly, Street Commissioner.

For 1881, the officers were: J.J. Pitkin, President; J.W.N. Wharton, Clerk; Cornelius Henry Ceperly, Street Commissioner; Alonzo A. Exline, Attorney.

Edward D. Coxe was elected President of the Board of Trustees for 1882; William L. Crawford, Treasurer; Alonzo A. Exline, Attorney; John Lindley, Constable.

The present, 1884 officers are:

A.J. Heckler, President: J.J. Pitkin, Street Commissioner; William L. Crawford, Treasurer: Alonzo A. Exline, Attorney; John Lindley, Constable; C.H. Wharton, Clerk.
