Son of: William John Rose and Elizabeth Rose, nee: Elizabeth Clarke

Education: public schools in Michigan

Married: Marguerite Aline Rose, nee: Marguerite Aline Bright of Chicago, on Wednesday, June 15, 1904.

Engaged as reporter, special writer, editor of Saturday Boys' and Girls' page and Open Window Club on staff of Chicago Record, later Chicago Record-Herald, 1896-1901.

Special writer on New York papers;

Wrote, signed editorials and verse for New York News

Assistant Sunday Editor, New York Press 1902-3

On staff Chicago Record-Herald

Editor, juvenile department, Chicago Evening Journal, 1903-4.

Since then engaged in play writing and magazine work;

Has contributed over 1,000 compositions in verse to American periodicals

Author: At the Sign of the Ginger Jar, 1901; the comic opera, The Bhugga-Bhu; The Knockers, etc. 1902-5
