Mr. & Mrs. James F. Morton lived at 501 Jackson Avenue, (now Estes Avenue), in the 1895 Chicago Blue Book, page 269. This was the first issue to provide addresses of Rogers Park residents.

The City Council passed a lengthy ordinance January 14, 1895, rationalizing the street naming system. Some time around that time, Estes Avenue became the new name for Jackson Avenue.
