Maria Indiana Kinzie (September 28, 1807 - February 21, 1887), was the daughter of John Kinzie and Eleanor Lytle Kinzie, nee: Eleanor Lytle McKillip.

Maria Indiana Hunter (1807- 1887), nee: Maria Indiana Kinzie, lived at Fort Howard with her husband (now General) David Hunter (1802-1886), the Commander of the Fort.
Lieutenant David Hunter, U.S. Army, was stationed at Fort Dearborn from 1828 to 1831. This is where Maria met him. They were married on September 18, 1829. The couple had no children.
