Liberty Street

From HistoryWiki

John M. Horner was the person who named some of the surrounding streets in that area. He had purchased (1854) a large portion of the San Miguel Rancho from Jose de Jesus Noe, and according to those sources, mapped his purchase and named it Horner’s Addition. The San Francisco History Center of the San Francisco Public Library holds a volume, MAPS C-D, which includes a map of Horner’s Addition, filed November 11, 1863, and includes the area bounded by Diamond, Harrison, Walnut and Ridley streets. Liberty Street is identified on that map.
