This street was most likely named for the pioneering Larrabee family, which included Charles H. Larrabee, a Chicago City Attorney in the 1840s. William M. Larrabee, secretary of the Galena and Chicago Union Railroad; and C.R. Larrabee, secretary of St. James Hospital in 1854.
