The restaurant had a beer garden to the south and lodgings on the second floor.
The building was erected in 1809 and was a stagecoach stop for a while.

RPWRHS photo F001-0102 shows the Karthauser Inn which was located at 3543 Ridge Avenue (later 6648 N. Ridge Boulevard) with lodgings on the second floor and a beer garden to the south of the main building. The inn was originally built as a stagecoach stop in 1809. 1920.
