Biographical Sketches of Rogers Park

Joseph M. Kean, real estate dealer, Chicago, was born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, Monday, April 30, 1849.

He came to Chicago in 1865, and for eight years was employed in the banking house of Preston, Kean & Co.. In the fall of 1874 he engaged in the wholesale tea business, and in the fall of 1878 became connected with his brother David W. Kean. in the real estate business.

He has resided in Rogers Park since 1873 Joseph M. Kean married Florence A. Kean, nee: Florence A. Scholes, of Montreal, Canada. They have three children—Frank P. Kean, Richard M. Kean, and Gertrude B. Kean
