born: at Chicago, on Sunday, December 21, 1856;

son of: Mathias A. Klein and Mary Klein, nee: Mary Herre

Brother: Joseph A. Klein

education: parochial and public schools;

married: Mary Klein2, nee: Mary Dewald, of Chicago, on Thursday, May 24, 1877;

children: John Mathias Klein, Jr.; Mary Theresa Klein, (Mrs. William Osmon); Alexander Joseph Klein.

With Bolton & Zittel, architects, about 2 yrs.,

subsequently joining his father, and, in 1883, becoming a member of Mathias Klein & Son;

title changed, 1902, to Mathias Klein & Sons, manufacturers of linemen's tools.

1918 Mathias A. Klein dies at age 92. John Mathias Klein becomes president.

Member Chicago Association of Commerce.

Republican.
