Mr. and Mrs. Jean Baptiste Beaubien and son Madore Beaubien attended the wedding of Dr. Alexander Wolcott, Jr. and Ellen Marion Kinzie in the Kinzie Mansion on Sunday, July 20, 1823.
Jean Baptiste Beaubien sued for the property on which Fort Dearborn stood, Justice Theophilus W. Smith wrote the Illinois Supreme Court's decision in favor of Beaubien's claim. It was later overturned by the United States Supreme Court.
