James Jay Sheridan, lawyer;

born at: Virginia City, Nevada, on August 16, 1868;

son of: James C. Sheridan and Bridget Sheridan, nee: Bridget Crowley

education: public schools, Marshall, Michigan; Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), University of Michigan, 1894; Master of Laws (LL.M.), Yale, 1895;

married: Gertrude Sheridan, nee: Gertrude Sands, of Chicago, on March 25, 1911 (died June 24, 1917).

Practiced at Chicago since 1895;

member Charter Convention that formulated new charter for Chicago, 1904.

Member Chicago Bar Association, Phi Delta Phi.

Clubs: Hamilton Club (president: 1903-4), University Club. While in college encouraged organization of Republican clubs among college men.

Recreations: horseback riding, golf.
