One of the most-anticipated and attended activities of the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society is our on-going series of House Tours.

The Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society conducts tours of homes, businesses, and historic sites in the Rogers Park and West Ridge neighborhoods alternating with even years being in West Ridge and odd years in Rogers Park. For each event, we create a booklet about the tour which contains pertinent information, such as a historic perspective of the area being visited and detailed descriptions of the various stops along the tour.

In both, Rogers Park and West Ridge, we have introduced our membership to many beautiful, well maintained, examples of the various architectural styles that permeate our neighborhoods and lend flavor to our diversity.

A feature of each House Tour has been the accompanying booklet. Meant as a guide, each contains photos of the places to be visited and write-ups about each home visited. By themselves, these booklets provide a look into our neighborhood and celebrate our architectural heritage.

Attendees are given additional information about locations they will pass en route from house to house. It isn’t always possible to get some of these “hidden gems” open for the tour purposes, but, they are, in and of themselves, worthy of note.

House Tour Booklets

Our collection of House Tour booklets is fairly complete. However, a couple of them are missing. If you have one of these and are willing to either donate it or will allow us to scan it, please contact us to arrange for us to get this/these issue(s).
