530 N. at 558 E. to 2420 N. at 7194 W.
This avenue was a muddy Indian trail called Whiskey Point Road in the 1860s. Its present name is said to have been inspired by Colonel Thomas J.V. Owen, Chicago's first Town President, elected in 1833, who said "Chicago is a grand place to live."
This is not the Grand Avenue in Rogers Park. It is the present-day Grand Avenue that starts at the east end at Navy Pier and travels westward from there.
