Fritz Reuter & Sons Violin Makers, 1565 W. Howard Street established in 1964 moved in 1994 to Lincolnwood, IL. Gunter Reuter and Fritz Reuter, Jr., reestablished Fritz Reuter & Sons Violin Makers in Rogers Park in 1964. The original Violin Shop was established in Den Hague, Netherlands in 1922 by their father B. Fritz Reuter. Fritz's son Michael Reuter, the 3rd generation violin maker, joined the shop in the early 1980s. He left violin making in the 1990s and joined the Chicago Fire Department.
