Frederick A. Thomas, commission merchant;

born in: Holley, Orleans County, New York, on December 21, 1831;

son of: Alden Thomas and Eliza Thomas; family removed to Rockford, Illinois, 1839;

education: country schools of New York and Illinois;

learned trade at which he worked only a few years;

married: Frances E. Thomas, nee: Frances E. Davis in 1856. (she died October 31,1891);

son: Herbert A. Thomas

Came to Chicago, 1856, and since about 1868 engaged in fruit commission business.

Was one of founders and for years president of the California Fruit Transportation Company;

now (1905) president of the F.A. Thomas Company, commission merchants.

Office: 121 S. Water Street.

Residence: 4111 Perry Street (now Greenview Avenue), Rogers Park.
