Frederich James Ratsch, manufacturer, sporting goods;

born in: Waukegan, Illinois, on July 24, 1862;

son of: William Augustus Ratsch and Theresa Ratsch, nee: Theresa Turrell

education: public schools, Chicago;

married: 1st wife: Mary Ratsch, nee: Mary Phillips, of Chicago, on November 19, 1884;

married: 2d wife: Mabel Ratsch, nee: Mabel Pitt, on February 16, 1904.

children (1st Wife): Edward J. Ratsch, Maude L. Ratsch (Mrs. Hugh J. Griffith, Jr., a.k.a. Mrs. Maude L. Griffith), Frederick E. Ratsch, Virginius S. Ratsch;

At age of 14 went to work for Ortmayer & Son, continuing until about 1895;

organized Chicago Sporting Goods Manufacturing Company, 1895, of which has since been president.

Recreations: motoring, fishing.
