The Evanston Railway Company was formed in 1913 out of the north suburban portion of the County Traction Company.
In 1923, the North Shore & Western Railway Company was merged into the Evanston Railway Company.
The Evanston Railway Company's rail operations ceased in 1935 and were replaced by buses. The name of the company was then changed to the Evanston Bus Company.
