This was a Rogers Park neighborhood theater. Under the management of the Lubliner & Trinz theater chain, it was originally known as the Ellantee Theater and was opened in 1919. The theater was later renamed the Ridge Theater.

Long ago it was closed as a movie house and today the building houses the Clark Devon Hardware.

The Ellentee Theater was constructed just after World War I on the plot of land that had once grown vegetables for Mr. Holleson.

In 1957, the Ellentee Theater was known as the Capri Ballroom, 1550 West Devon Avenue.
