married: M. Louise Van Sant, nee: M. Louise Miller in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 22, 1896.
Entered railway service, 1890, as messenger Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, Baltimore, Maryland;
was in various clerkships, same railroad, until August, 1899;
appointed, September 1, 1899, coal and coke agent, with headquarters at Chicago;
resigned, February 1, 1902, and was appointed traffic manager, Jones & Adams Company (wholesale coal and coke), serving until May 14, 1903, when purchased interest in Globe Coal Company, of which is now (1917) vice president.
Clubs: South Shore Country Club, Chicago Gun Club, Chicago Motor Club.
Recreations: baseball, shooting, fishing, motoring.
