Das, Sheela
Sheela Das became Associate Director on the staff of the Rogers Park Community Council in January 1996.
At that time, Sheela had eight years experience with non-profit organizations focused on economic development and policy analysis. She successfully submitted a proposal to bring $1 million to Devon Avenue for streetscaping. Improvements were planned for 1997.
In 1988, Sheela completed certification with the State of Michigan as an Economic Development Practitioner and gained a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. She was assigned to build the Rogers Park 2000, which at that time was only in the planning stages. She was also there to help build the membership numbers.
Sheela lived in West Ridge with her husband Tom and two daughters Haley and Kirby. She was a member of the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society, and CAPS Beat 2412.
