Congregation Kesser Maariv was one of the leading othodox synagogues in the Rogers Park community. The official name is Kesser Maariv (crown of the west or western crown) Beth Hamidrash Hagdol Kesser Maariv Ante Luknik (house of study, western crown men of Ludick) and was located at 6418 N. Greenview Avenue. The heralded West Side congregation has its roots in the Maxwell Street community. It later moved to the West Side and another group moved to the South Side. The structure was built in about 1995. The Rabbi Zev Wein was the spiritual leader for many decades. After years of vandalism, the congregation moved to Golf Road in Skokie.
