The building was erected in 1912 and opened as the Morse Theater in 1913. It was renamed as the Coed Theater on Saturday, March 19, 1938. It housed Congregation Beth Israel from the early 1950s to 1977. It later became a shoe mall. It later was resurrected as the Morse Theater, which only lasted a year. It presently (2011) is the Mayne Stage Theater.
