Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad Soundex Code C220

The Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad, nicknamed (the North Shore Line), was an Interurban, a 600 V d.c., electric-powered railroad that ran from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Chicago, daily over what is now called the Red Line tracks. It stopped at the Howard Street Station in Rogers Park.

The "North Shore" was opened on Friday, June 12, 1896.
