New York City, December 29, 1905 -- (Special) -- Charles Tyson Yerkes, millionaire traction magnate, creator of the Chicago street railway system, and builder of London's underground railroad, died this afternoon in his apartment at the Waldorf-Astoria of kidney disease and heart trouble. His death occurred at 1:30 p.m., but was not announced in the hotel until an hour later.
