Charles Gates Dawes was a businessman, an army general, 30th Vice President of the United States, and wrote a song "It's All in the Game" that hit number one on the charts. Dawes Elementary School in Evanston at 440 Dodge Avenue is named after him. The Charles G. Dawes House is now used by the Evanston Historical Society. He was the co-winner with Austen Chamberlain of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925.
