Benny Meroff Musician

Benny Meroff (1902-1973) was a nationally known band leader, and vaudeville and night club performer. He owned a Chicago dance school. His Benny Meroff Orchestra was among the most popular in the country in the 1930s. He died in Milwaukee, having lived in Elm Grove, Wisconsin since 1958. He performed in clubs throughout the Chicago area and headlined from 1926 thru 1931 at the Granada Theater, where he also maintained the Benny Meroff School of Dance. He had two daughters and a son.
