Began with the Baltimore Car Wheel Company, with which continued 8 years;

then came to Chicago as general sales agent for Lorain Steel Company, for which is still agent;

in 1898 organized the North American Railway Construction Company (which succeeded the American Railway Construction Company), of which he is president
