Ordained: Priest, (Catholic Church), 1886.

Vice-President, Detroit College, 1889-90;

President, St. Xavier's College, Cincinnati, 1893-97;

President, Marquette College (chartered as a University during his term of office), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 1900-8.

Since Tuesday, February 11, 1908, (Loyola University established 1909 with departments of law, medicine; College of Arts & Sciences, as an expansion of St. Ignatius College).

Trustee: St. Ignatius College and Loyola University.

Residence: St. Ignatius College.
