To wit: The Municipal Reference Department that is part of the Government Publications Department on the Fifth Floor of the Harold Washington Library Center has a Chicago street name index that gave the following information:

"The name Aldine was first used in Chicago for the name of a square (Aldine Square) and used for the street name. The name Aldine comes from the town of Aldine, England. Aldine Square was built up in 1876 and was outstanding for its 'Victorian Mansions.'"

Finally, we (CPL) were unable to find a current town called "Aldine" in England. It is a street name in London and possibly other English towns.
