1947 Text

This two-story, three-bedroom house is in strong contrast to Prize House 4, its western neighbor, having a colonial feel and is markedly informal. The masonry exterior house has a full basement with rec room and no attic. It has central air conditioning and 1 fireplace. There is a one-car attached garage, two full baths, and one half bath.

This 2,010 sq.ft. house sits on a 8,664 sq.ft. lot.

The U-shaped kitchen, furnished by Sears, Roebuck & Co., has a dinette table which doubles as eating and working space. A tall broom closet hides the refrigerator. The prize-winning architect of this house’s plans was Carl L. Cederstrand from Wilmette, Illinois.
