Come to our Annual Member meeting at the new home of our collection of documents and ephemera from the past. After five years of hard work, our new archive at the Northside Neighborhood History Center in the Sulzer Regional Library is ready for its debut. Materials are cataloged and neatly stored in preservation-friendly gray boxes that fill 135 linear feet of Sulzer Library shelf space. Archivist Allyson Smalley will explain how to use this important new resource and show examples from the collection.
We’ll have a report on RPWRHS activities in 2023 and an election of board members, followed with light refreshments, a tour of the archive and pieces from the collection on display in the reading room.
We finally have a well-organized collection open to students, authors, journalists, film makers, genealogists and anyone curious about the history of Rogers Park and West Ridge. We’re pleased to introduce this new way to share the historical materials RPWRHS has collected and preserved ever since 1975.
