Living History: Meet Mod4, A 1960s All-Girl Garage Band

Join long-time RPWRHS member and volunteer Kathy Talkin and her former bandmate Nellie Hastings as they relive the journey of the Mod 4, a 1960s all-girl garage band. When they started out from their hometown of Aledo, Illinois in the summer of 1966, they were billed as the youngest all-girl combo in the country. Hear about their unique teenage adventure as they traveled from playing gigs in their local area, cutting singles in a Midwest studio, appearing in a Battle of the Bands on the rock variety show Happening ‘69, produced by Dick Clark and hosted by Paul Revere and the Raiders in Los Angeles, and back home again to their last gig at a club in Kewanee, Illinois in 1970.
