A Culinary Tour of India in the World in One Neighborhood

First Stop: Hyderabad

June 27, 2024 @ 6:00 pm 8:30 pm

Fixed Price Menu: $35

Whether you are a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or a newcomer to the many regional dishes of the sub-continent, you can enjoy a series of delicious meals in the company of others who share your love of adventurous eating on our culinary tour of India co-sponsored by the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society and the Culinary Historians of Chicago.

The restaurant location and menu for each meal will be selected by Colleen Taylor Sen, food historian, author, and member of both sponsoring organizations, to highlight the regional varieties of Indian food available locally in West Ridge and other Chicago neighborhoods.

Our first stop will be Hyderabad, where the food combines the grains and vegetables of the south with the rich meat-based dishes of the north. The capitol of the Indian state of Telegana is famous for its biryani and delicious desserts, but to taste them, you won’t have to travel to the southeastern coast of India. You can experience it all at Hyderabad Kitchen, 6242 North California Avenue in West Ridge.
