Throughout his alderman career and campaign, David Orr continued to provide his Report 49 to interact with and inform the public.
David Orr won his re- election for the 49th ward. He continued to keep his campaign promises by keeping the public information on government practices, policies and general information. This was done by distributing newspapers and newsletters.
Harold Washington won his reelection for major, but died several months later in November of 1987. Orr served as acting Mayor of Chicago for one week until his replacement was selected.
