Newspaper about Washington’s campaign in Spanish

The 1987 election was a heated race for the independent democrats and the machine democrats.  Harold Washington, the first African American mayor of Chicago, was up for re-election.  In the democratic primaries Washington beat out former mayor Jane Byrne with 53.5% of the vote.  Washington was up against Ed Vrdolyak, a member of the Solidarity party and supporter of the machine.
