In Our Archives

The Society has an extensive collection of photographs, papers, and objects that portray the history of Rogers Park and West Ridge.

Photographs: We have about 4,500 images digitized and cataloged in our collections database. Included are many class photos from the local Elementary and High Schools. The collection also contains photographs taken by respected local resident photographer, Marty Schmidt, documenting neighborhood life in the second half of the Twentieth Century.

Papers: We have a sorted, but uncataloged, collection of important papers from many of the cultural and community organizations of our neighborhood, including:

  • Rogers Park Woman’s Club (1891-1996)
  • North Town Woman’s Club
  • Masonic Temple
  • Rogers Park Kiwanis Club
  • Save Granada Theater Committee

We also have yearbooks from many of our local schools and colleges, memorial occasion publications from local churches, and historical records of prominent Rogers Park and West Ridge individuals and families.

Objects: We have a sorted, but uncataloged, collection of objects representing local businesses, community organizations, schools, churches, and everyday life in Rogers Park/West Ridge.
