Living History: 170 Years of Chicagoland in Maps

In this installment of our Living History series, Donald and Tanya Smith, owners of Greeley-Howard-Norlin-Smith Land Surveying & Map Making, will present the history of surveying and map making in the United States, Illinois, and Chicago, drawing from the remarkable archive of their 170-year-old family business. The Smiths will bring examples of maps, atlases, surveying instruments and tools that should be of particular interest to Rogers Park and West Ridge residents.
