How long have you lived in Rogers Park/West Ridge? 13 years

How/why did you get involved with the historical society? I first worked for the Society managing the initial Openhouse Chicago event in 2011 and then assisted in the effort to redevelop the Greenleaf firehouse as a museum

What do you do for the historical society? I am a Board Member

Why did you choose to live in Rogers Park/West Ridge? It was where my brother lived while he was in graduate school and I was in undergrad. Upon completion of my degree I wanted to live in Chicago and thought Rogers Park was the best part of the City.

What are your favorite hidden gems in the neighborhood? The street-end park Fargo and the Lake is particularly quiet and scenic.

What’s your most notable Rogers Park/West Ridge memory? Every Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival is my favorite memory of the neighborhood. It is when just about everyone is out on the street, seeing each other, having a great time and being a very lively community.

What is your favorite part about living in Rogers Park or West Ridge? The people of Rogers Park are a unique blend of people who enrich my life on a daily basis.

Where do you see the historical society in the future? I would hope it continues to bring people together with unique stories that show how we got to where we are and provide lessons for us to depend upon when facing challenges

Describe Rogers Park/West Ridge in three words. Yesterday, tomorrow, alive
