A Fond Farewell to our Original Website

s we launch the second generation of the society’s web site, it’s fitting to take a look at where we’ve been. The Rogers Park / West Ridge Historical Society has had a presence on the internet for over ten years. In the 1990s, Society founder Mary Jo Doyle, who served as executive director of the Society until her passing in 2008, saw the benefits of reaching out to the public using what was then a relatively new technology.

stablished on Monday, July 28, 1975, by a group of local residents who believed their part of Chicago was a place with much to share and celebrate, the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society is today an integral part of the community.

About the Society

The Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society collects, preserves and shares the story of the diverse community of Chicago’s far north side. Established in 1975 by local residents who believed their part of Chicago was a place with much to celebrate, the Society today serves the community through its publications, architectural tours, and various educational and outreach efforts.

We are open weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other times by appointment.


Board of Directors meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Society's offices.
