This was the stomping ground of North Side crime boss George “Bugs” Moran, Al Capone’s main rival for control of the illegal booze trade and rackets.

Those attending will see the outsides of the homes of Big Tim Murphy (gunned down in front of his house on Morse Avenue), mob enforcer Jack Zuta, Joey Aiello, known as the toughest gangster in Chicago, and many others.
RPWRHS docents will provide a detail commentary on their careers and residencies and the surrounding neighborhood.

Out in Union, IL, the Illinois Railway Museum (IRM) has over 60 rail cars and locomotives that either actually ran in Rogers Park or are representative of others that did. No collection of such equipment can ever be complete. Many pieces were scrapped along the way, with no examples saved. However, the IRM has the largest collection extant. And, we’re planning to go there to visit these cars on Sunday, August 8, 2010. You can register for the event
